Aboriginal Pathway to Mining Program

The Aboriginal Pathway to Mining Program was developed to increase the number of Aboriginal Australians working in the mining and drilling industries.

Tauondi College in partnership with Source4 Training and Recruitment worked to implement this program to provide Aboriginal people of Australia a pathway through education to mining and drilling.
  

Target 101

The newAboriginal Pathway to mining and drilling initiatives will continue with a new focus.

Target 101, is aimed at creating pathways for 101 Aboriginal Australians into employment within the resource sector. Source4 is committed to recruiting, training and supporting Aboriginal Australians and work with companies to create job opportunities.

 

Participation Selection

Each Participant will undergo the following for selection into the program:

ü  Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) evaluation

ü  Psychometric testing and evaluation

ü  Drug and Alcohol testing

ü  Police Clearance Certificate

 

Program Outline

The program incorporates:

ü  Anger Management

ü  Fatigue Management

ü  Cross Cultural Education

ü  Finance Management

ü  Mentoring support for the first twelve months

ü  Work Safely at Heights

ü  Enter Confined Space

ü  Work in Accordance with an Issued Permit
